Thou Dost Protest Too Much

I shouldnt have bitched so much yesterday about the weather. I could have it much, much worse. I just heard from a friend who lives in McMinnville, just outside town in the country, and he has 2 feet of snow and lost power for 2 days. He and his partner run a foster care for developmentally delayed adults and have 4 clients who live at their house. For the last 2 days they have had to melt snow in their fireplace to have water to flush toilets and do dishes. They have a well for water and no electricity means no water gets pumped in from the well. He and his partner have been stuck at their house with little contact with the outside world for 12 days. No wonder he felt like Jack Nicholson in “The Shining”

Be thankful for what you have, even simple things like electricity and running water. Merry Christmas everyone hopefully you are with the people you care for the most.

Sincerely,
Walter
